SATURDAY PROGRAM

Each Saturday, over 1000 children ages three through twelve flock to the Change A Life complex in Mathare. Under the leadership of the Change A Life staff, the children play games, singing songs, and hear a Bible lesson. Each child also receives a sandwich, banana, and juice. The Saturday program is our first chance to meet many children, to plant seeds of God’s love, and to assess those who are most at-risk and in need of our help.

When children turn 13, they join our Teens Program. These teens and young adults meet each Saturday afternoon for Bible study and discipleship, and Sunday for worship and fellowship - all in a language and style that are relevant to their stage of life. Young people who have graduated out of our teens program meet together each week as well.

LEARNING CENTER

At the Change A Life Learning Center in Mathare, students age 4 through grade 2 grow and flourish under the nurturing care they receive from highly qualified and deeply committed educators. Five days a week, children in our day school receive a quality education, as well as nutrition and hygiene they might not otherwise receive. When students complete grade 2, they are eligible to transition to our boarding school in Kiserian.

Each student in the Change A Life Learning Center has been identified as the poorest of the poor in this community, and here each student embarks on a life-changing journey through education, nurturing, and spiritual development.

BOARDING SCHOOL

The Change A Life Boarding School is home for over 200 students in grades 3 through high school. This beautiful campus, located an hour’s drive from Mathare, is the setting where these students receive a quality Christian education in a clean, loving, nurturing environment. In Kiserian, our students experience amenities they’ve not known before - three wholesome meals every day, clean and comfortable beds to sleep in each night, pure water to drink and wash their clothes in, electricity for studying after dark, and so much more. All of their activities take place under the care of our committed staff members, who have devoted themselves to caring for the students who live and learn here.

We pray that the years that students like me spend in Kiserian will lead to generational change in their lives, and in the lives of their current and future families.
